Barangay Cabawan is located at the eastern part of the city, and the geological characteristic of the place is generally rocky and rolly. Beyond this place are thin top soils of clay-loam type and are planted with corn, vegetables, coconuts, bananas and other root crops. Among them is kinampay, a kind of ubi with a violet texture with an inviting aroma and flavor when cooked.
This barangay has a total land area of 267.3242 hectares where an estimated 130 hectares are used for residential, 128 hectares for agricultural purposes, 7 hectares for parks and open spaces and 2 hectares for institutional area. This barangay has a distance of 8 kilometers from the city's central business district.
Many remarkable events had taken place before the present generation achieved the real vision of what is known today as peace-loving and hardworking people determined to live and to progress amidst the hardships of time.
With the religious heritage left by the Spaniards and the people before, the present Cabawanons now are God-fearing and living a peaceful life.
