Barangay Dampas is located about one kilometer from the city [roper. It could be reached by all types of transportation to and from the city proper. Dampas is the largest barangay in the city with an area of 443.7 hectares. It has a total population of about 7,027. It consists of 1,242 families and 1,167 household. It is generally plain and rolling.
It is in this barangay where we can find the Roman Catholic Cemetery, the National Power Corporation which provide the city its electricity, the multi-awarded Integrated Bus Terminal, the Central Public Market, the City’s biggest warehouse and Island City Mall owned by Alturas Group of Companies, the Holy Name University-Dampas Campus and the Garbage Dump Site of the City. The Divine Mercy Shrine which is always full of devotes every Friday coming from all over the Province proved that the Dampasanons are God-fearing.
