Barangay Poblacion 1 is the smallest barangay in the city with an approximate land area of 25.873 hectares located in the commercial zone and is considered as one of the urban barangays in the city. It has a total population of 3,976 inhabitants. As of 2007, it consists of 571 households and 709 families.

It is situated at the eastern coastal part of the city, making its people depend on fishing and fish trading as the barangay’s main source of livelihood. It is also where the old wharf (pantalan) is located and is now the center of fish trading in the entire city popularly known as “causeway”. Causeway means a paved way or road across the waters, a highway connecting the city and nearby town, Municipality of Dauis.

Poblacion 1 has its treasured and distinguished Sug-ang, a landmark consisting of three large rock formations strategically placed against each other like that of a tripod for cooking. It is where “Three Stones” got its name, mythically believed to be one used by giants who once dwell in the area a long time ago. It is situated at a body of water on the eastern part of the barangay.
