Barangay Poblacion II of Tagbilaran City is bounded on the south by J.S. Torralba Street, on the north by Maria Clara Street, on the east by Sikatuna Street, and on the West by the city bay.
Its total population is 7,703 with 915 households. Its land area is 70.2 hectares. The residential area in terms of hectares is seventy five percent (75%); industrial area, three percent (3%) and institutional area is ten percent (10%).
Appraised as a commercial district, Barangay Poblacion II is the heart of the City of Tagbilaran. This bustling barangay boasts of its advancement and urban development compared to other barangays in terms of education, infrastructure, facilities, commercial establishments and other factors that keep Tagbilaran as a city.
The city’s Poverty Reduction, Peace and Development Program (PRPDP) and the Local Poverty Reduction Action Planning (LPRAP) has generated an update on the poverty profile of the barangay based on eight indicators namely: child mortality, child malnutrition, crime, food threshold, housing, income threshold, meals, sanitation, school drop-outs, tenure status, unemployment, and water.
For Pob. II, a slight plurality of the households is living below the income threshold and does not own the lot on which their houses are built. One out of ten households is living below the food threshold. From the number of households, sixteen percent are unemployed. All households have portable water. There is a zero percent incidence in child mortality and no household is living below the meal threshold. Crime incidence is minimal at four percent.
