The barangay of San Isidro, with the assistance of the city government, incorporated the revised city vision, mission and goals (VMG), the new Executive & Legislative Agenda (ELA) and other directions of the national government like the Philippine Agenda 21 with its own barangay plans and directions. Undertaken to respond to the five governance & development sectors, the barangay did a hands-on planning process which also served as a capability building for the barangay in the succeeding planning years.
The expected outputs of the Barangay Development Planning Workshop include the following:
- Vision, Mission and Sectoral Goals (fighting targets)
- Strategic Directions (Objectives & Strategic for the years)
- Annual Investment Plan (AIP) for 2005 reviewed
Six modules comprised the workshop facilitated by the Holy Name University Center for Local Governance. Nine participants from Barangay San Isidro attended the Barangay Development Planning Workshop last April 18 & 19 2005. The poverty index contained in the results of the Local Poverty Reduction Action Program served as basis in reviewing the existing condition of the barangay. Some discrepancies in the data were observed but these were immediately validated with the barangay participants. With the Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA) and the Agenda 21 as framework, the Current Reality Dialogue proceeded with the use of the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis. |
